Pakistan Expands Fast-Track Passport Service to 47 Cities
Due to an increase in demand for passports, the Directorate of Immigration and Passports has extended the fast-track passport service to 26 more cities, making it available in 47 cities across Pakistan.
Prior to this, fast-track services were only available in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta.
Applicants from additional cities will now be able to apply.
New Cities Added to the Fast-Track Service:
Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Kohat, Swabi, Swat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Hangu, Abbottabad, Haripur, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur (Azad Kashmir), Bagh, Kotli, and Rawalakot.
By expanding this service, citizens living in small towns and remote areas can obtain passports without having to travel to big cities.
Improved processing and Backlog Updates
Passports recently announced a major breakthrough:
The backlog of fast-track applications has now cleared.
Over 30,000 fast-track passports and 70,000 urgent passports have been issued.
Efforts have been made to speed up processing by adding extra working shifts. According to Director General Mustafa Jamal Qazi, urgent category passports will be processed by tomorrow.
Application Processes Online and Overseas
In addition to the in-country services:
- Around 17,500 passports are issued by foreign missions
- Over 17,000 online applications were successful.
This demonstrates the department’s commitment to improving local and overseas passport services.
Pakistanis in underserved areas will benefit from faster processing and less travel by expanding the fast-track file number in indian passport services.
